If you know me from Facebook or ForgottenDelights.com, or have read my books or heard me lecture, you have a good idea of the type of art I like. This blog is more of the same: posts on painting, sculpture, architecture, fiction, and music, with a smattering of other subjects.
For example: when I was planning to visit the National Gallery in Washington, D.C., I wrote a series of posts on my favorite works there – the ones I didn’t want to miss, and the new favorites I found on that visit. I’m now running a similar series on favorites at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. When I fell in love with the soundtrack to Hamilton: An American Musical, I started posting weekly on that; the first post in the series explains why.
Occasionally I wander off the art reservation, for example to post favorite quotes on advertising and copywriting, or photos of major construction in the New York City area. The tag cloud at the lower right of this page will take you to particular categories.
- If you want to see every post (usually two short posts and one long one per week), subscribe to the blog via the sign-up at lower right. Or send your email to email@example.com, and I’ll send you a weekly summary of my blog posts plus movie recommendations, art exhibitions, and so on from my Facebook pages.
- I’ve become exasperated with the number of spam-bot comments to blog posts, so the comments are turned off – but I’m always happy to hear from you. Feel free to email comments to firstname.lastname@example.org. If appropriate, I’ll update the post with your comment.
